Date: 5th September 2009 Time: 12:00 Place: Prince George's Playing Fields, Bushey Road, Raynes Park, London, SW20 8BA, UK.
Zimfest 7s 2009 is upon us! Two time winners Raynes Park RFC will be attempting to make it a hat-trick this year, but there are a number of hungry teams snapping at their heels. This tournament is strictly a social sevens tournament which means that anyone can play so long as they are there to have fun.
There is a reduced entry of GBP 10 per person into Zimfest instead of GBP25 so it is a big discount. When you register your team we will give your teamlist to the Zimfest Gate Security team, and you can pay for entry on the day. Any players who are not on the teamsheet will not be able to get the reduced entry, so please get your team lists accross to us ASAP.
This year rolling reserves are allowed and even recommended as those of you who are not as young as you think you are may feel you need a breather from time to time. Otherwise it is 7 minutes each way, with 2 minutes rest at half time. Teams are expected to provide one touch judge for each game they play.
The tournament will be an 8 team competition with 2 pools of 4 teams. The winner from each pool will go through to the final.
Footware is mandatory, whether it is boots or tackies is up to you. Those of you who attended last year will know why barefoot is not a good idea, perforated soles is not a good look.
Each team is responsible for their own insurance and insurance forms and instructions will be emailed to your team captain upon registration.
If you are on your ace without a team and want to play in the tournament, contact admin[@]zimfest7s.com and we will make a plan.
